Flagship BMW i Model Test Mule Spied

The brand from Münich continues to develop this crossover flagship for its BMW i lineup. Believed to be called iNext (like the concept) or more model family-friendly i5, prototype test mules were recently caught out and about in Europe.

Interestingly, shots in this mix nabbed by our spy sources show off clear details of the car’s interior, including unique curved dash style display. Traditional gear lever controls appear to be thrown out in favor of rotary style switchgear. Unique design continues on the dashboard, floating above the center console and a sporty two-spoke steering wheel.

Exterior door handles appear to be similar to what’s been seen on i4 testers and the new BMW 4 series Gran Coupe, foregoing the pop-out designs used by the likes of Tesla and Mercedes.

This i5, iNext or whatever it will be called is expected to be a full BEV, though range and power figures aren’t known at this time. Likely several variations will be offered depending on price point.
