Tesla Unveils Cybertruck

Elon Musk is no stranger to either controversy, or pushing the boundaries in the world of transportation. Should we be surprised then that the reveal of the new Cybertruck raised eyebrows and pushed boundaries in ways nobody expected.

Looking at the controversial design, it is perhaps no surprise (in retrospect) to see where they got the name “Cybertruck”. It looks like it could be right out of an 80s era video game with those flat sides and angular “curves”.

However retro that may sound, the overall shape suggests a revolutionary and likely functional way of changing the profile of a pickup… both more aerodynamic and perhaps a more efficient use of space.

Other selling points are ultra-hard, cold-rolled stainless steel alloy supposedly borrowed from Space-X and armor glass. The latter is a bit of a point of controversy though, because that glass broke if not shattered in the live presentation. Musk was even heard to swear, dropping the F-bomb when steel balls thrown at the glass actually damaged the side window.

There’s an adaptive air suspension with adaptive damping and adaptive ride height. It can lower the bed and adjust, even allowing in a similarly electric quad runner Tesla also showed off.
