Eagle-eyed spy photographers caught this most interesting looking 7-series on a flat bed near BMW’s own production facility. Though specific spec, BEV or PHEV remains unknown, this BMW 7-series sedan is clearly an electric test vehicle as marked. Also unknown is whether or not this current-generation “7er” is testing a drivetrain planned for it, or it’s successor.
End of production for the current-generation 7-series is June 2022, so theoretically there is still time for BMW to launch an electric 7er or “i7”. Whether this generation or next, there’s no doubt BMW will likely step up to compete with the upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQS.
